    TOTALLY sounds like Pollan and tied to the new book, for sure.

    Wish I could find the source. Looks like it was made to be printed on burlap. Maybe somebody’s on it already.

    Less wheat, I agree. It’s a mystery. It sounds like today’s concern around celiac and GM crops. Good question.

    I think it looks wartime/depression-era, when both meat and bread would have been in short supply. I don;t think the US had rationing on the same level as the UK did, but consuming less at home for the sake of Our Boys At The Front would have been A Patriotic Thing To Do.

    Regardless, it’s a great sentiment. I’m thinking of printing it onto a tile for our upcoming kitchen reno.
